Chase and Chance Cheeney, two young, extremely talented brothers, make up the duo that is known as The Cheeney Brothers. At only 15 and 19, these boys are mature beyond their years in their songwriting ability. They are currently working on their debut release in the studio. With dozens of songs lying around, the brothers are working on whittling down what they feel is some of their best work to present to the world. Over their years, the Cheeney Brothers have performed in so many of Houston's major music venues, and even performed with the legendary Foreigner at the massive Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. No strangers to performing, the Cheeney Brothers regularly play 3 or 4 hour nights of cover songs, showcasing their wide variety of musical interests, true depth of talent, and mature musical taste and ability. My name is Chase Cheeney and I am 15 years old. I am the voice of The Cheeney Brothers. I started out writing original songs, and progressed to attending a song writers camp called Real Life Real Music at the Dosey Doe in Spring, Texas, as well as Aspire Music Songwriters Camp in Montgomery Texas. This inspired me to write more songs because I loved the feeling of the crowd. I started out taking voice lessons and playing in Performance Groups at School of Rock and then furthered my education in music with a few guitar lessons. I currently take voice lessons from Aspire Music with Laina Standard. I feel she has brought me further with my voice and I really enjoy working with her. I have been playing with my brother for almost 3 years at many different venues. My other interests are playing the fiddle, swimming, video games, and metal detecting with my Dad. We released our first single and music video "That Is What We Said" July 2019, which is currently on all platforms. when we travelled to Nashville, a dream came true. We got the opportunity to travel to Nashville, not once, but 2 times, and work on artist development and played at several venues (The Commodore Club, The Bluebird Cafe, and did a tour at The Grand Ole Opry, and to our surprise got to play on the stage) while we there. Absolutely the best so far!!
I'm Chance and I am 19 years old. I am the guitarist and and back up vocal for our group. I play lead and rhythm guitar, bass, and some ukulele. I picked up the guitar about 3 years ago and learned on my own by ear. My brother and I have been playing together for about 3 years now. I have also been in Performance Groups and taken guitar lessons at School of Rock. I eat, sleep, and drink guitar. I have written some originals as well, and have been in a couple of music videos. We just released our first single and video "That Is What We Said" in July 2019, and it is currently on all platforms, which was a great experience. This single and video was something that we earned by winning 3rd place in the We Rock Youth Ministries Competition in Waco, Texas. This was a surprise because we had no idea that they were going to do this. I enjoy all genres of music from country to rock, but my favorite is 80's hair metal. My hobbies are working out, swimming, playing video games, and watching movies with friends. It was the best summer ever, when we travelled to Nashville 2 times and performed at many different venues, such as The Blue Bird Cafe, The Commodore Club, and got a chance to perform on stage at the Grand Ole Opry. We worked on our Artist development with a company called PCG Universal in Nashville and learned many new things to help our performances.
